VÝSLEDKY SOUTĚŽE



Do soutěže se zapojilo celkem 29 lidí. Ze všech příspěvků jsme vybrali 4 nejlepší a z nich potom jednoho vítěze. Na prvních čtyřech místech se tedy umístili: Bohužel, našli se i tací, kteří švindlovali a své definice opsali na internetu. Ti byli samozřejmě diskvalifikováni a nebudou se moci zapojit do žádné další soutěže na našem webu.

Jako vítěze soutěže naše odborná porota vybrala pana Václava Vlčka z Chodova. Ten od nás a od internetového knihkupectví www.englishbooks.cz získává výkladový slovník s CD ROM Oxford Essential Dictionary. Ostatním velice děkujeme a těšíme se na jejich účast v některé z příštích soutěží.

: definitely - a word used to express that you have no idea about something and you don't care about it

: dangerous/hazardous - a suggestion to not worry about anything, similar to "don't worry to try this at home"

: supersticious - trying to avoid certain things (eg. black cats) and another billions of regular things and situations; kind of entertainment

: popup window - kind of good news, useful hints, unexpected and important information, See also "desired"

boy - a young male person who usually simulates a sleep in a bus instead of letting pensioners to sit down when there is no empty seat

girl - a young female person who stands 24 hour per day in front of the mirror putting some unidentifiable crap on her face

school - a synonym to the deepest hell

teacher - a hopeless person who tries to make people from monkies

English language - a terrible problem which occupies millions of students´ brains all around the world who try to learn it

mother - a very useful human machine for cleaning, cooking, hoovering, preparing a snack and also a source of money

dog - an animal which pisses every corner and makes a mine field from every lawn

gun - a useful tool when things don´t go well

office - a place where you usually go for 8 hours a day to have fun: chatting with colleagues, playing computer games and getting a coffee for free

wallet - a magnet to pickpockets

BOY = a state of one´s mind, not always corresponding with the state of his body

WOMEN = the better and more beautiful part of human society

SCHOOL = an institution which gives parents at least a tiny chance to rest

ENGLISH LANGUAGE = perhaps the only language which contains less rules than exceptions to them

TEACHER = person who makes education boring and uninteresting in the eyes of students

MESS = term, which quite pertinently describes Czech politics, Irish public transport and British weather

BEER = Czech national food and drink

BREAK DANCE = very peculiar kind of dance in which the dancer touches the floor with every part of his body except his feet

CORD EXTENSION SET = a flex which is always too short

FRIEND = a person who shares even the last bit of chocolate with you



Výkladový slovník je takový slovník, ve kterém nenajdete český překlad anglických slovíček, nýbrž jejich definici v angličtině. Takové slovo boy je např. definováno jako a male child , nebo slovo teacher jako a person whose job is to teach . Práce těch, kteří takový slovník píší, jistě není snadná (sám jsem jeden výkladový slovník napsal). V této soutěži si to vyzkoušíte na vlastní kůži. Vaším úkolem ale nebude psát definice klasické. Cílem je napsat definice netradiční, vtipné, co nejoriginálnější. Vítěz soutěže vyhraje výkladový slovník s CD-ROM od nakladatelství Oxford University Press, Oxford Essential Dictionary v ceně 350 Kč:

Z nejlepších příspěvků (které vybere odborná porota) vylosujeme jednoho výherce.

A která slova máte za úkol definovat? Pět slovíček je pevně dáno (viz níže), dalších pět si můžete zvolit sami. Celkem je potřeba napsat 10 definic v angličtině.
Zaslané příspěvky musí být vaším vlastním dílem! Součástí každého příspěvku musí být jméno a příjmení, věk, adresa (adresa samozřejmě nebude zveřejněna), a čestné prohlášení, které může vypadat např. takto:
