I'm an American who has been living in the Czech Republic since before many
of you were born 
(December 1991, to be exact). My husband is Czech, and we have two fully
bilingual children – a boy aged 16 and a girl aged 12 – both attend Czech
schools. I'm fluent in spoken Czech, but my written Czech is quite funny.
I work freelance as a translator from Czech to English (I would never dare
translate into Czech!) I also teach English to primary school children –
grades 1–4, and I also taught English conversation for a couple of years at
our local primary school. That's how I found HFE – I was looking for
materials to help me explain grammar to my students. It's a great site, and
I hope that I can be of some help to those of you learning English. I have to
say that I'm quite overwhelmed at the depth of grammar knowledge that some of
you have…!!! As I've mentioned in some of my posts, I can tell you when
something's right or wrong, but oftentimes I won't be able to tell you WHY.
I hope that's not too frustrating…but then Marek usually steps in and helps
me out
