Dobrý den.
It´s a good feeling knowing that kids follow your example – I´d say it´s a rewarding thing to fix your sights on. Obviously if you´re not very good, that isn´t going to happen, but if you can dish it out in this sport, your standing really goes up – and that´s a good place to be.

It's rather unusual in this sense, but I understand it (on the basis of the limited context supplied) to mean “show that you can play/perform well”, – vynikat; podat špičkový výkon; ukázat, jak to umíš; atd.
