Let’s move on TO recommendations. As Laura said, Venice is in the
stagnation phase and it means that the city must take some steps to survive. The
REJUVENATION strategy in this case is to maintain tourist numbers below carrying
capacity. The first recommendation is to ban THE OPENING OF NEW HOTELS. The city
authorities already have approved a plan BANNING THE OPENING OF NEW HOTELS in
Venice. The new law means no converting of buildings into tourist accommodation
or making extensions of the already existing tourist accommodations.
Unfortunately, the ruling does not include Airbnb, which we would definitely
recommend to regulate.
