Ahoj,
jak by se anglicky vyjádřily oblasti jako např. Plzeňsko, Ústecko, Ostravsko apod.? Napadlo mě např. Liberec Region, ale to dle mého označuje spíše celý Liberecký kraj než jen město Liberec a jeho okolí…

A jen tak pro úplnost “Ústecký kraj” by byl “the Plzeň Region” nebo “Plzeň Region” (bez členu určitého)? A písmeno “R” ve slově “region” bude velké, že?

When “Region” is being used as a proper noun to translate the administrative area “kraj”, English native speakers use it without the definite article because the word is part of the name (like Charles Bridge, Prague Main Station).
- You can hardly walk across the Charles Bridge in summer because there are so many tourists.
- The Plzeň Region is an administrative unit in the western part of Bohemia.
When “region” just means an area (that does not necessarily correspond to the administrative “kraj”), you need a small “r”:

Já bych řekl, že Ústecký kraj by byl spíš Ústí nad
