Genitiv

Mohli byste mi prosím poradit, zda je možné takto použít genitiv v následujících dvou větách:

John and Mary delivered leaflets in the streets of New York. Unfortunately, some streets of John’s could not be found.

John and Mary were injured by rocks falling from a cliff. Unfortunately, some rocks of John’s were too big and his recovery was not easy.

Moc děkuji.

John and Mary delivered leaflets in the streets of New York. Unfortunately, some streets of John’s / some of John's streets could not be found. This sounds acceptable, though not the most natural way of expressing this idea. The streets “belong” to John because they were on his list, they were assigned to him, so in that sense they are “his”. Better: Some of the streets on John's list / assigned to John couldn't be found.

John and Mary were injured by rocks falling from a cliff. Unfortunately, some rocks of John’s some of the rocks that hit John were too big and his recovery was not easy. With the rocks, there's no sense that they somehow “belong” to John or were “destined” to hit him, or were “assigned” to him.
