Valentine’s Day? No Thanks!
Honestly, I think Valentine’s Day is just a big commercial joke. It’s all about shops making money, selling overpriced flowers, chocolates, and cards. It’s the same thing every year, and I’m really tired of it. People act like it’s the only day to show love, but love isn’t something you need to buy.
My boyfriend and I don’t need all that. For us, showing love doesn’t come with a price tag. We don’t need a special day to remind us to be nice to each other. We do little things every day – like making each other laugh, cooking dinner together, or just talking about our day. That’s way more meaningful than some fancy dinner or a bouquet of roses.
And don’t get me started on the pressure! Like, if you forget about it or don’t get the “perfect” gift, people make you feel like you’re a terrible partner. If you buy something “wrong,” then suddenly you’re not showing enough love. It’s ridiculous.
So no, we don’t bother with Valentine’s Day. It feels forced and fake. It just adds more stress to people’s lives, like there’s some kind of test you have to pass to prove you love someone. We’d rather have real, honest moments with each other, not something that's all about what you can buy or how much money you can spend.
