tlačit /mačkat se s lidmi v dopravním prostředku

Ahoj.
Zasekl jsem se u překladu věty:
Postavil jsem se na nejlepší místo v autobuse, abych se cítil pohodlně a nemusel se tlačit s ostatními spolucestujícími u dveří.

Můj pokus:
I took the best place on the bus to feel comfortable and not to be pressed by other people by the door.

Kontext:
Nastupuji do autobusu, kde se u dveří na stojáka mačkají v hloučku lidé, přitom dále v buse už tolik lidí není. Po otevření dveří jsem se prodral lidmi až na místo pro kočárek, kde nikdo nebyl a na tomto místě jsem setrval až do cílové zastávky.

Nějak nevím jak to správně vyjádřit.
Pomůžete mi prosím?

• … and not get* caught up in / avoid the crowd by the door
• … and not get* pushed around by / avoid the crowd near the door
• … and not get* jostled by the crowd near the door
• … and not get* caught up in / avoid the crush (of people) by the door

(*Sloveso “get” může ve všech příkladech nahradit sloveso “be”. “Press” se tady nehodí. )

Pokud to dobře chápu, tak dlouhé “not get squashed by” lze nahradit jednoduše pomocí “avoid” čili celá věta je pak "I took the best place on the bus to feel comfortable and avoid the crowd by the door. Je to tak?

2. … and not to get squashed by the crowd by the door

Z jakého důvodu chybí “to” před get viz věta 2" ?
To mi není nějak jasné. Vysvětlíte mi to prosím?

Pokud to dobře chápu, tak dlouhé “not get squashed by” lze nahradit jednoduše pomocí “avoid” čili celá věta je pak "I took the best place on the bus to feel comfortable and avoid the crowd by the door. Je to tak?

Ano. Chceme-li se vyhnout tlačenici u dveří, rozumíme, že se nechceme nechat tlačit.

1. … and not get squashed by the crowd by the door
2. … and not to get squashed by the crowd by the door

Když už jednou máme to (" … on the bus to feel comfortable and not …“), není třeba slovo "to” zopakovat.

• I set my alarm for 5.00 a.m. (in order) to catch an earlier train and (to) arrive at work in good time for my meeting.
• I put on a clean shirt and tie (in order) to look professional and (to) make a good impression at my interview.
• I bought a new tree (in order) to brighten up my flat and (to) make it feel more Christmassy.
• I bought some flowers (in order) to cheer up my girlfriend and (to) show how much I love her.
