Ted mne zase trochu mate, proc tam neni present perfect kdyz zrovna dohral, proc tam neni “what i have played” nebo “what i have been playing”. Dekuji

A proc “I was playing” kdyz uz dohral a dej je dokoncen, taky preci reknu “Did you hear what i said”..

Aha ted mi to doslo – Did U hear what I played by znamenalo, ze zacal hrat po tom co to mel slyset a “Did U hear what I had played” ze dohral a on az pak mel neco slyset… Takze I was playing – zacal jsem hrat v minulosti, on to mohl slyset, kdyz jsem zrovna hral.

Posloucham BBC English a rikaji tam: What John was doing before he met Jane… Muze mi nekdo vysvetlit, proc tam neni What John had been doing before he met Jane? Dekuji moc.

John is working in a bar>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>John meets Jane. What was John doing before/when he met Jane? He was working …

John is working in a bar ------>[xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]John meets Jane. What had John been doing before he met Jane? He had been working …

Jak by bylo gramaticky spravne napr ze Man United vyhravali, ale nakonec prohrali? Tusim ze jsem to taky slysel they were winning but they lost a ja bych tam z poucek dal : they had been winning but they lost..

Většinou uvádíme nějaký časový marker, třeba “at one point, nebo in the first half, nebo until the 75th minute they had been/were winning (lépe "they were nebo had been in the lead”), but in the end they lost." Věta they were winning but they lost sama o sobě nezní přirozeně.

Není třeba až tak moc řešit minulý/předminulý čas. Dva děje v minulosti, i když ten první musel zákonitě předcházet ten druhý, jsou i přesto dva ukončené děje v minulosti a většinou stačí simple past. Např. He scored twice in the first half before making his hat-trick five minutes into the second half. (Had scored je přijatelné, ale není nutné.)

Zdravim. Ako mam polozit otazku:
Co si robila pocas toho ako si cakala?
What was you doing during you are waited?
Dakujem

What was you doing during you was waiting.
To bude pravdepodobne spravne.
Pardon za dalsiu spravu ale cez mobil mi nejde upravovat prispevky

What was you doing during you was waiting.

  • a. What were you doing while you were waiting?
  • b. What were you doing while you waited?
  • c. What did you do while you were waiting?
  • d. What did you do while you waited?

Moc dekuji za objasneni. Mohl bych se zeptat, jak by spravne byla otazka: “Jak dlouho jste spolu byli, nez jste se rozesli?”.

  • How long were you together before you split up / broke up / separated / parted?
  • How long had you been together before you split up / broke up / separated / parted?
  • How long had you been together when you split up / broke up / separated / parted?

How long were you together before you got engaged? (mumsnet)

How long had you been together before getting engaged? (studentroom)

… how long had you been together when he popped the question? (cosmo)
