break out – vypuknout, rozpoutat (válka, bouře, nemoc, atd.)

The first world war broke out in 1914.

break into – vloupat se, vlámat se (někam násilím)

Two unidentified persons broke into our warehouse this morning.

walk into sb/sg – do někoho nebo něčeho vrazit

The guy was so drunk he couldn't avoid walking into my Granny and knocking her down.

fit into sth = dobře zapadnout mezi lidi
She's fitted into the team very well.

fit out – vybavit (do hor, na sport)

Let's fit you out now. You can't go to the Himalayas in your pajamas, eh?

pan out – dopadnout (situace ap.)

I'm glad things panned out the way they did.

black sth out = vymazat, vypustit (z paměti)

I want to black my fault out.

make out – líbat se

Bill takes me out to the movies and I hope we gonna make out. He's soooo hot. TTT

tune (sb) out – nevnímat, prestat vnimat

The lecture was so boring that after a while, I completely tuned (the lecturer) out. – Ta prednaska byla tak nudna, ze po chvili jsem kompletne prestal vnimat (prednasejiciho).

tune in to sth – naladit, vyladit, chytit co (stanici)

I tuned in to my favourite radio.

sleep in – prispat si

As I have to get up early on work days, I often sleep in on weekends.

sleep over – AmE přespat (jinde, než doma)

“Don't worry, Mom, I'll sleep over at Judy's and give you a call in the morning.” TTT

sleep around (informal) – spát s kdekym/kazdym, dat kazdemu (sex)

Everybody knows that Mr. Simmons' wife sleeps around and Mr. Simmons doesn't seem to mind himself either.

turn around – otočit se (v BrE s round)

I was certain somebody was behind me and I didn't like the feeling. So I turned around, but nobody was there, to my surprise. TTT

stick around (informal) – byt na blizku, zdrzovat se (v blizkosti neceho/nekoho), zůs­tat

Jen told me she was fine, but after what happened the last time, I thought I'd better stick around for a while just in case something happened.
